I started taking pictures as a child. Although I didn’t have the words for it then, I was photographing from a documentation mindset; freezing a moment from my life so I could hold it forever. With time I began to explore the creative and expressionistic qualities of the medium.

As my work has evolved over the years, I’ve found myself drawn to qualities of light, shadow and color. I prefer to shoot in available light, but will use studio lights and even a flash when the moment calls for it. I like to limit myself to a couple of prime lenses that I know will get the job done. I am not really aware of, nor terribly concerned with current trends. I just do my best to make the photographs that I want to look at.

I hope that others will want to look at them too.
